| You might be experienced chronic diarrhea. In my opinion, it may be caused by the following: 1. Infectious inflammation (viral, microbial or parasitic) with relative changes in stool (microscopy), blood and with positive microbiological, virological or serological tests. Unfortunately, there are a great number of various infectious agents may cause the diarrhea. 2. Allergic inflammation (with increase of eosinophils and immunoglobulin E levels in the blood, eosinophils in stool in microscopy, positive allergy tests). 3. Intestinal disbacteriosis - this illness is caused by the violation of normal balance of intestinal microbes, verified by bacteriological tests. If one has no problems with the immune system, the diet may be very useful. 4. Digestive problems - in routine case trouble with the pancreas may cause the long-term diarrhea, sometimes - problems with the liver or gallbladder. This may be diagnosed by ultrasound examination, biochemical blood and urine tests. 5. Diarrhea as chronic psychosomatic sickness has low probability, frequent case - the period of diarrhea after a very stressful event.
Diagnosis may be difficult and requires that your doctor take a careful history and perform a physical exam. The types of tests that your doctor may order will be based on your symptoms and history. Tests may include blood or stool tests; stool cultures may be used to test for bacteria. To detect parasites, it's recommended that three or more stool samples be examined. Special stains may be required to look for some parasites. If these initial tests do not reveal the cause of your diarrhea, additional tests may include radiographs (x-rays) and endoscopy. Endoscopy is a procedure in which a tube is inserted into the mouth or rectum so that the doctor, usually a gastroenterologist, can look at the intestine from the inside. You should definitely see a General Physician or a Gastroenterologist for proper diagnose and treatment.
